Kelly's Travel Story
Kelly Thomas' Travel Story
Q: What song do you have on repeat when you are traveling? Deja Vu by Post Malone.
Q: Do you ever get cold on the plane, if so, do you ring the flight attendant for a blanket, or do you just endure and suffer?
I always get chilly on the plane, and I usually pack a sweater when I'm traveling. I have asked for blankets in the past, but it's always nicer to have a soft sweater that I brought from home.
Q: Where is your favorite beach vacation?
I love Carbon Beach in Malibu. It's really laid back. When I'm in Malibu I like to grab lunch at Moonshadows!
Q: What is the one personal product you can't travel without?
I always have to bring my own conditioner. I notice the difference immediately if I use the conditioner they offer at the hotel, it's not as effective and hydrating at the conditioner I use at home. I like to pack Oribe Classic Conditioner - it helps to nourish my hair when I'm traveling. If I have any downtime I'll leave the conditioner in for an hour in the morning, it helps to give my hair extra moisture and softness.
Q: Airbnb or hotels?
I generally like hotels, but recently I've loved Airbnbs when I'm traveling abroad. I like to cook, and the most recent Airbnb I stayed at had a beautiful kitchen.
Q: Do you bring a physical book or just read on your iPad?
I like to read on my iPad. There are different books I like to read at night versus by the beach, and my iPad lets me bring all my favorites. I also like to listen to podcasts on my iPad.
Q: Do you work out when you travel, or nah?
I try to work out when I travel! I always pack a pair of tennis shoes in my suitcase. I like to run outside, and get a better feel of the town or city I'm in. It's nice to experience the city from the perspective of a local.
Q: If you could time travel, what age would you travel back to?
I would have to say age 6. The mandatory naps in kindergarten were the best. I also loved learning how to draw and color for the first time.
Q: Favorite movie? I love a good romance movie, Silver Linings Playbook.
Q: What's the most you've ever paid for wifi in a hotel room? The Four Seasons in San Francisco. It was $45 per day.
Q: Let's travel back through time, what did you want to be when you grew up? A mermaid.
Q: Favorite childhood book? Falling Up by Shel Silverstein.
Q: Favorite childhood movie you watched all the time? Jungle Book.
