Q: What song do you have on repeat when you travel?
I love all kinds of music, but if I had to pick a recent song it'd be "Maradona Riddim" by DJ Snake & Niniola. I can't get enough of the singer's clear vocals and the warm, rhythmic, afrobeat.
Q: Do you ever get cold on the plane? If so, do you ring the flight attendant for a blanket or do you just endure and suffer?
I am always cold. Even in the middle of summer, I always travel with a jacket. Sometimes I bring a travel blanket with me on domestic flights, since they don't always have them on the plane.
Q: How far in advance do you book a trip for?
For work, it can be pretty last minute (like the day before) and my agents are usually in charge of booking that for me. My dad was an airline captain and I have his travel benefits, so for personal travel I often fly standby. Otherwise I usually book my flights 6-8 weeks out.
Q: What is your favorite beach vacation to visit?
I have an upcoming trip to Harbour Island in the Bahamas after Christmas - I have a feeling that will make the top of my beach list.
Q: What is the one personal product you can't travel without?
In terms of personal products, I absolutely cannot live without lip balm. I LOVE the mini Oribe Balmessence. I also always try to have a toothbrush and toothpaste, I really like the Traveler Set because it has a few of my favorite things. The Caudalie Mist is amazing.
Q: AirBnB or Hotels?
For work, I definitely prefer hotels. They're always clean, and I live for a good hotel robe. For personal travel, I like to switch it up. AirBnB is by far my favorite for group travel. It's nice to have a homey place where people can cook and hang out together.
Q: What is your favorite thing to order from room service?
Honestly I rarely order room service. Unless I'm exhausted or landed really late, I prefer to get out and try local places wherever I'm staying. When I do order room service it's usually dinner, and a burger and fries is my go-to.
Q: What is the most embarrassing thing that happened to you on a travel trip?
One time I left my suitcase at airport security. Just literally walked away without grabbing it after going through security. I must have been really tired that day. Luckily, they called my name over the intercom and I was able to get it back.
Q: Do you work out when you travel, or nah?
Yes! I try to work out five times a week when I'm at home, and I aim for the same when I travel. Exercise helps me with basically every jet lag issue. It gives me more energy, helps with digestion, forces me to drink water, and makes me feel like I've accomplished something.
Q: If you could time travel, what age would you travel back to?
This is a tough one! I would probably go back to being 25. It wasn't that long ago, but I was traveling a lot for work - and I absolutely loved the experience. I enjoyed the independence, and felt that I got to take advantage of the flexibility that comes with my job. I said yes to everything!
Q: Favorite movie?
I love a good thriller movie like The Bourne Ultimatum.
Q: Favorite musician?
My all-time favorite is Celine Dion. I had all of her tapes growing up (yes, tapes.) I also love Kendrick Lamar, Zhu, and Rufus du Sol.
Q: What is the most you've ever paid for wifi in a hotel room?
I think the most I've paid for wifi was $30 a day or something stupid, and then I only used it to watch Netflix while falling asleep. It was unnecessary.
Q: What's the most expensive thing you've gotten confiscated at TSA?
I traveled a lot growing up, so I'm pretty good at packing TSA approved things by now. Although, one time I accidentally had a can of pepper spray and a wine opener in my purse. It wasn't a huge loss, but they definitely confiscated those quickly.
Q: Let's travel back through time, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A fighter pilot! I thought it would be cool to be the female version of Tom Cruise in Top Gun.
Q: Favorite childhood book?
The Velveteen Rabbit was my absolute favorite childrens book. My grandma would read it to me when I was really little, and I think we may have even had the stuffed animal to match.
Q: Favorite childhood movie you watched all the time?
Probably "The Rocketeer" - My brother and I used to watch it all the time together. "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" was another favorite too.
